There are plenty of affordable accommodations with airbnb. We recommend that for the wedding you stay somewhere within the town of Port Antonio and Boston. You can ask your host where they are located and if they are between these places. Below are a few hotels available in the area, but it is not a full list of what is available.

Recommended travel option:
Flying in from either Kingston (Norman Manely Int'l airport) or Montego Bay (Sangster Int'l airport) you can use the Knutsford express to get to Port Antonio. Be aware that they only leave twice a day 7:30am and 6:30pm from Kingston (you will need to take one bus from the airport to the main station first and those leave often) and they leave at 9:00am and 5:00pm from Sangster (Montego Bay). You can purchase a club MoBay entrance to kill time in Montego Bay (the entry fee includes drinks and food) and you can kill time around the Knutsford main station in Kingston (they will keep your luggage and you can walk around the area).
The travel time to Port Antonio is about 2.5 hours from Kingston and 4.5 hours from Montego Bay. Although the travel time from Montego bay is longer, the roads are more comfortable.
These buses offer you water, but no food so bring snacks if needed.
You are allowed to bring luggage. Check their website for more detailed information.
Prices : 1300jmd Kingston airport to main office; 2150jmd Kingston to Port Antonio 345ojmd total (~26usd , ~20gbp, ~23eur) If there are several of you and you feel comfortable haggling, you could probably get a taxi to take you to the Knutsford main office for cheaper than each paying 1300jmd. 3550jmd Sangster Int'l airport (Montego Bay) to Port Anotonio.
You will arrive at the marina in Port Antonio. From here you can ask someone to call a taxi for you and you can haggle on a price to take you to your accommodation. You can also make prior arrangements with one of us or with your hotel/airbnb host to make sure you have a driver waiting on you. Make sure that you know where you are staying and get proper directions to give to a driver from Airbnb host/ hostel/ hotel.
Pros: Comfort, luggage space, you can pay with card Cons: Price and time restraint
check price and schedule here: www.knutsfordexpress.com you can buy a ticket online or at the bus station before you get on.
Public transportation would be the cheapest option to get to Port Antonio, but you must be travelling light and ready to squeeze in tightly and willing to add on another possible couple hours to travel/wait time. Jamaica has route taxis and that run from A to B (and make any stop in between) and have a fixed cost (which you can ask the driver or a passenger how much). They run as often as they want so you can hop in at anytime, buuuuttt they leave whenever they want and you can be stuck waiting for a long time for a bus/taxi to fill up. From Kingston you would take a taxi and a bus. From Montego bay you would take a taxi, bus and another bus (but the bus from Ocho Rios doesn't always run so it might be another 3 taxis instead). *If you want this option ask one of us for the route list and alternatively you can ask anyone around once you are here how to get to Port Antonio and someone will be helpful.
In Port Antonio you will end up at the bus park by a Texaco (gas station) where there will be many taxis. You can ask someone there to charter a taxi to your accommodation or you can make arrangements with where you are staying (either a pick up or ask which route taxi to take and where to get off).
Pros: Cheapest option and no time restraints Cons: No/very limited luggage space, several stops, not very comfortable, MUST have cash, could get confusing, could take 4 hours and could take 12 (seriously, it's happened to me before).
*Would only recommend to people who have traveled here before or can secure a data plan before travelling.
You can rent a car at the airport. I am not sure how much is costs, but you can rent at the airport or on whichever website you like to use. Make SURE to get insurance and if you think your credit card offers coverage double check because most don't cover rental in Jamaica. Also, make sure to get a road map, google maps kinda works in many areas, but it's not always 100% correct. If in doubt, ask someone for directions, but honestly, just try not to get lost because Jamaican directions are notoriously difficult to understand; 5 minutes could mean 20 and "around the corner" could mean after several corners.
Jamaica drives on the left, roads are narrow (looking at you Californians who are used to large roads), there are some roundabouts and not many traffic lights outside of Kingston, there is a lot of overtaking, lots of animals on the road (mostly dogs and goats, but occasionally pigs, cows, chickens and donkeys).
Pros: You have complete control over your movements, you can carry as much stuff as you like Cons: Insurance is a must and can be pricey and gas is pricey
*You can try to rideshare with others who will be coming in at the same time to help with costs.
If you have enough people this a great option. From Montego Bay it's about $250 -$300USD for a mini van and from Kingston it would be slightly less. The price isn't exactly fixed and depends on the size of the van and how many people. If you would like this option, please contact us with plenty of time and we can arrange something. Let us know how many people and from which airport.
